The emblem of the Academy consists of the symbols of the three services
(Hoplite’s Helmet, Anchor, Wings), that also form the emblem of the Hellenic
National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), along with a book, and a sword which
cuts the “Gordian Knot”.
It symbolizes the strength and determination that comes from knowledge to
solve any problem, through joint planning. The epigram «Εν τη ενώσει η ισχύς» (In
unity, there is strength) placed on top of the emblem emphasizes the joint nature of
the Supreme Joint War College.
